When I was in the high school class, we had about 20 people. But remember the stores were closed on Sunday; there were no car races, Pop Warner football, volleyball, soccer, etc. Sunday School and church were about the only thing “open”.
At 9:45 am the whole group would meet in the sanctuary for a song or two, offering, birthdays, and a class would have a Bible time skit. Then we would go to class until 10:45 am. Worship started at 11:00 am. If you have heard this story, go to bigger and better things. If the story is new to you, hang in there.
My son was about 11 or 12 and my mother was his S.S. teacher. The skit was the parable of the Good Samaritan. I did not approve of all that happened in and out of class, but this is the story. One of the boys in the class was a pest sometimes. We will can him boy C. My son is boy A and my son’s friend is boy B for the skit.
The parable. Boy C was the Jewish man going from Jerusalem to Jericho. Boys A and B were the robbers hiding behind the chairs on the platform. As the Jewish boy C approached the “robbers”, he was attached by A and B. The robbers were really playing their part and working boy C over. Finally, their teacher called the skit off, before it got violent.
As far as I know today, boy B and boy C are living happily ever after. Boy A (my son) has 31 years of teaching Vocational Agriculture and F.F.A. (Future Farmers of America) at Gilbert High School in the east valley.

In my past articles, I have written that we had 75 to 100 in Sunday School that began at 9:45 […]

[3

post-228","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-newsletter
["GET
