The local newspaper had an obituary for Ida Borhauer. Ida’s Harold served our Peoria church as an interim or pulpit supply maybe eight or ten years ago. Ida was always in our worship service when Harold was in the pulpit. Ida was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Sun City and was active in several civic organizations besides the church.
Harold told of preaching at four different worship services on a Sunday in rural Kansas and with four different sermons. They also served on the Navajo Reservation in northern Arizona.
One of their sons, Hal, served as chairman of the Chris Harri Foundation that distributed money to several churches including Peoria Presbyterian Church. Hal also served as President of the Peoria Schools Governing Board.
Ida, 93, passed away March 28, 2019. Services were held in Sun City First Presbyterian on April 27, 2019. The paper said Ida did not give handshakes but hugs instead. Ida leaves one daughter, five sons, fifteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and three great, great grandchildren.
It was great to have the Rev. Harold and Ida in our church family a few years ago. Gone but not forgotten.
